On Friday, November 7, I had the honor of being a speaker at the Western New Jersey ASIS Annual Seminar and Exhibit held in Morristown, NJ. This years event topic was business continuity and emergency preparedness. I presented the topic “Stress Testing Security: Identifying breaking points before an emergency”. Stress testing is essentially applying the simulated pressures of an emergency on the people, processes, and systems of an organization to identify areas where improvements are needed. Doing so prior to an emergency incident allows undiscovered weaknesses to be identified, planned for, and budgeted for correction so that the failure does not impact the organization in a real emergency.

In addition to several speakers, the event hosted several security vendors showcasing their products and services.
